BEYOND THE VEIL
The Unseen Realm
The physical world is temporary.
The spiritual world is eternal.
Soul Tattoo: There is more happening than what we can see.
2 Corinthians 4:18 (NIV) 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Colossians 1:16 (ESV) 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities, all things were created through him and for him.
What we see is temporary, but what we cannot see is the ultimate reality.
1.) The unseen realm is a created reality.
Hebrews 11:3 (ESV) 3 By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.
2 Kings 6:15–17 (ESV) 15 When the servant of the man of God rose early in the morning and went out, behold, an army with horses and chariots was all around the city. And the servant said, “Alas, my master! What shall we do?” 16 He said, “Do not be afraid, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them.” 17 Then Elisha prayed and said, “O Lord, please open his eyes that he may see.” So the Lord opened the eyes of the young man, and he saw, and behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.
Daniel 10:12–13 (NLT) 12 Then he said, “Don’t be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day you began to pray for understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your request has been heard in heaven. I have come in answer to your prayer. 13 But for twenty-one days the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia blocked my way. Then Michael, one of the archangels, came to help me, and I left him there with the spirit prince of the kingdom of Persia.
Just because you cannot see it does not mean it is not happening.

2.) The unseen realm is where the real battle happens.
The Bible consistently teaches that the deepest conflicts of life are spiritual, not merely physical.
Supporting Scriptures:
Ephesians 6:12 (NIV) 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Job felt the pain on earth, but the battle was being discussed in heaven. Job experiences physical suffering, but the real conflict was occurring in the heavenly realm.
Luke 22:31–32 (ESV) 31 “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, 32 but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned again, strengthen your brothers.”
Many struggles we experience are symptoms, not the root.
Behind temptation.
Behind discouragement.
Behind division.
Many of life’s visible battles have invisible origins.
3.) Jesus is Lord over the unseen realm.
Colossians 1:16–17 (ESV) 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities, all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
Colossians 2:15 (NLT) 15 In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross.
The cross was not just a human event. It was a cosmic victory.
Hebrews 12:22 (NIV) 22 But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly…
Revelation 5:11 (NIV) 11 Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten thousand times ten thousand. They encircled the throne and the living creatures and the elders.
The unseen realm is real, but Jesus is its King.
3 WALK-AWAY TRUTHS:
1. Live with spiritual awareness.
Not paranoia, awareness.
1 Peter 5:8 (NIV) 8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
There is always more happening than what your eyes can see.
2. Fight spiritual battles with spiritual weapons.
2 Corinthians 10:3-4 (NIV) 3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
Prayer-Truth-Faith-The Word of God
You cannot win spiritual battles with natural tools.
3. Fix your eyes on eternal realities.
2 Corinthians 4:18 (NIV) 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Faith tunes our hearts to a reality our eyes cannot see.
Hebrews 12:1-2a (NIV) 1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus…
The writer reminds believers: You are not running alone.
Heaven is watching.
Angels are ministering.
Christ is reigning.
The veil between heaven and earth is thinner than we think.
The unseen realm is not far away, it is closer than we realize.
