ALL THINGS NEW
New Faith

Prayer connects us to God and Fasting disconnects us from the world!

SOUL TATTOO: “New Faith” begins when I choose God’s connection over the world’s pull.

Revelation 21:5 (NIV) 5 He who was seated on the throne said, “I am making everything new!” Then he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.

At Destination Church, this is who we are:

“Because everyone counts, Destination Church relentlessly loves and serves like Jesus.”

  • Know God — A new faith starts when I reconnect my heart to Him.
  • Build Relationships — New faith grows when I walk with people who sharpen and strengthen me.
  • Discover Purpose — New faith becomes personal when I understand why God made me.
  • Make a Difference — New faith becomes powerful when I use my gifts to serve others.

This is the journey of a healthy church and the journey of a fresh start:

Lost people get saved → saved people get pastored → pastored people get discipled → discipled people get mobilized.

Matthew 17:14–21 (NKJV) 14 And when they had come to the multitude, a man came to Him, kneeling down to Him and saying, 15 “Lord, have mercy on my son, for he is an epileptic and suffers severely; for he often falls into the fire and often into the water. 16 So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.” 17 Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.” 18 And Jesus rebuked the demon, and it came out of him; and the child was cured from that very hour. 19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not cast it out?” 20 So Jesus said to them, “Because of your unbelief; for assuredly, I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you. 21 However, this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”

Jesus diagnoses two issues:

“Unbelieving” - not connected enough to God.
“Perverse” - too connected to the world.

Prayer reconnects me to God.

Fasting disconnects me from the world.

NEW FAITH requires a NEW CONNECTION.

Leviticus 25:10 (NIV) 10 Consecrate the fiftieth year and proclaim liberty throughout the land to all its inhabitants. It shall be a jubilee for you; each of you is to return to your family property and to your own clan.

The Year of the Lord’s Favor:

  • Debts canceled; God wipes the slate clean.
  • Slaves and prisoners set free; symbolic of spiritual freedom.
  • Lost land restored; God returns what was stolen or broken.
  • No sowing or reaping; they had to depend fully on God’s provision.

This wasn’t just a policy…it was God shouting:

“I want my people to live NEW again.”

Jesus doesn’t just give you a new year, He gives you a new life.

SOUL TATTOO: “New Faith” begins when I choose God’s connection over the world’s pull.

New Faith Power Points:

1.) New Faith begins when I repent and “Go All In”.

Acts 3:19-21 (NLT) 19 Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away. 20 Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and he will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah.

The effort I put in determines the outcome I get.

New faith won’t grow without new patterns.

Practical Step: Commit to the One Year Challenge

Small steps of faith create big seasons of change.

2.) New Faith requires letting go of old history, hurts, and habits.

You cannot start the next chapter if you’re still rereading the last one.

Philippians 3:12-14 (NIV) 12 Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. 13 Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, 14 I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Isaiah 43:18-19 (NIV) 18 “Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. 19 See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

Prayer says “God, I need You.”
Fasting says “World, you don’t control me.”

When I tell my body and soul “no,” God teaches my spirit to say “yes.”

What I starve dies. What I feed grows.

SOUL TATTOO: “New Faith” begins when I choose God’s connection over the world’s pull.
3.) New Faith flourishes when I commit to finding and fulfilling my purpose.

Ephesians 2:10 (NIV) 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Purpose gives faith a direction.

New faith becomes strong faith when it becomes serving faith.

New Faith touches every pillar of our church:

  • Know God - I connect through prayer, worship, the Word of God.
  • Build Relationships - I stop trying to grow alone.
  • Discover Purpose - I realize God made me for more.
  • Make a Difference - I walk out my calling by serving others.

New Faith is not a moment, it’s a movement.

New Faith is born when I connect to God, disconnect from the world, and step into purpose.
