Beyond the Veil
EASTER
Luke 24:6 (ESV) “He is not here, but has risen.”
In Greek the early church would say:
Christos Anesti! Christ is risen!
Alithos Anesti! Truly He is risen!
Hebrews 10:19-20 (NLT) 19 And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. 20 By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place.
Matthew 27:50–51 (ESV) “And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice and yielded up his spirit. And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom.”
Easter didn’t just prove Jesus is alive, it proved the way to God is open.

1.) Jesus opened the way into the presence of God.
Hebrews 10:19-20 (NLT) 19 And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. 20 By his death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place.
Jesus didn’t just come to earth, He opened heaven.
John 14:6 (ESV) 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
1 Timothy 2:5-6 (NLT) 5 For, there is one God and one Mediator who can reconcile God and humanity—the man Christ Jesus. 6 He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message God gave to the world at just the right time.

2.) The resurrection proves the unseen realm is real.
2 Corinthians 4:18 (NIV) 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
Colossians 1:16 (ESV) 16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities, all things were created through him and for him.
Hebrews 11:3 (ESV) 3 By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.

3.) The resurrection power now lives in us.
Romans 8:11 (ESV) 11 If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through his Spirit who dwells in you.
The resurrection didn’t just change history, it changes us.
2 Corinthians 5:17 (ESV) 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
John 5:24 (ESV) 24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life.”

The way to God was not closed anymore. The tomb was empty. The veil was torn. And the invitation was open.

Pastor: The tomb is empty!
Church: Jesus is alive!
Pastor: The stone was rolled away!
Church: Death has been defeated!
Pastor: The veil has been torn!
Church: The way to God is open!
Pastor: Who is our hope today?
Church: JESUS!
One more time church… He is risen! He is risen indeed!
The veil is torn. The door is open. And Jesus is calling your name.
