IN BETWEEN
Dedicate…
Dedicate: To set apart and consecrate to God; to devote to a sacred purpose.
“Dedicated in the In Between”…Baby Dedication Sunday.
Soul Tattoo: What is dedicated to God in one season can shape generations in another.
The in between isn’t just shaping parents, it’s shaping children.
1 Samuel 1:27-28 (NLT) 27 I asked the Lord to give me this boy, and he has granted my request. 28 Now I am giving him to the Lord, and he will belong to the Lord his whole life.” And they worshiped the Lord there.
Luke 2:21-22 (NLT) 21 Eight days later, when the baby was circumcised, he was named Jesus, the name given him by the angel even before he was conceived. 22 Then it was time for their purification offering, as required by the law of Moses after the birth of a child; so, his parents took him to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord.
1 Samuel 1:10-11 (ESV) 10 She was deeply distressed and prayed to the Lord and wept bitterly. 11 And she vowed a vow and said, “O Lord of hosts, if you will indeed look on the affliction of your servant and remember me and not forget your servant, but will give to your servant a son, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall touch his head.

4 “In Between” dedication strategies:
1. Dedication happens before destiny.
Biblical dedication is not about parents promising perfection.
Baby dedication is not about guaranteeing salvation, it’s about parents publicly committing to raise their children in the ways of God and trusting Him with their future.
It is:
Acknowledging the child belongs to God,
Committing to raise them in the ways of God, and inviting God’s purpose over their life.
Dedication is stewardship, not ownership.
Before children discover their calling, parents establish their foundation.
You don’t dedicate a perfect child, you dedicate a child to a perfect God.
God, this child belongs to You before they belong to me.

2. God works in the hidden years.
1 Samuel 2:26 (ESV) 26 Now the boy Samuel continued to grow both in stature and in favor with the Lord and also with man.
Luke 2:52 (ESV) 52 And Jesus increased in wisdom and in stature and in favor with God and man.
God values formation before platform. The hidden years are not wasted years.
The hidden years are holy years.
The small daily moments are shaping eternal things.

3.) Pentecost was also an “in-between” moment.
What did Jesus tell them to do?
Acts 1:4–8 (ESV) 4 And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, “you heard from me; 5 for John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” 6 So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. 8But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Pentecost reminds us that God meets people in the in-between with His presence and power.
Acts 2:1-4 (ESV) When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. 3 And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.
Because parenting is impossible without the help of the Holy Spirit.
You can’t raise children with only culture, opinions, or good intentions.
God doesn’t just call families, He empowers them.
Children need more than good parents, they need Spirit-filled homes.
The Holy Spirit helps ordinary people raise extraordinary generations.
Formation → Filling → Future Impact

The in between seasons of parenting are preparing future impact.
