Giving… Give It!
When God moves our hearts in prayer, He also opens our hands in generosity.

Proverbs 9:10 (NIV) 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.
Breakthrough begins when we live open-handed.
Our Heavenly Father is an open-handed giver!
John 3:16 (ESV) 16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
Ephesians 3:20-21 (NIV) 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
If the Church in America would just tithe, not give one dollar over, we’d have enough to feed and educate every person on the planet, and still have $60–70 billion left to advance the Gospel. God knew exactly what He was talking about when He said, ‘Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops’.
Proverbs 3:9–10 (NLT) 9 Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. 10 Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.
Proverbs 11:24–25 (NLT) 24 Give freely and become more wealthy; be stingy and lose everything. 25 The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.
Wisdom guides how we give. It teaches us stewardship, order, and discernment.
Generosity guides why we give. It reflects God’s nature of grace and abundance.
Wisdom decides where the seed goes; generosity decides how much gets planted.

4 Solutions to Breakthrough Generosity:
1.) Breakthrough generosity honors God first. (The Tithe)
Acts 2:42–45 (NLT) 42 All the believers devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, and to fellowship, and to sharing in meals (including the Lord’s Supper), and to prayer. 43 A deep sense of awe came over them all, and the apostles performed many miraculous signs and wonders. 44 And all the believers met together in one place and shared everything they had. 45 They sold their property and possessions and shared the money with those in need. 46 They worshiped together at the Temple each day, met in homes for the Lord’s Supper, and shared their meals with great joy and generosity—47 all the while praising God and enjoying the goodwill of all the people. And each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved.

Malachi 3:7-12 (ESV) 7 From the days of your fathers you have turned aside from my statutes and have not kept them. Return to me, and I will return to you, says the Lord of hosts. But you say, ‘How shall we return?’ 8 Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, ‘How have we robbed you?’ In your tithes and contributions. 9 You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me, the whole nation of you. 10 Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need. 11 I will rebuke the devourer for you, so that it will not destroy the fruits of your soil, and your vine in the field shall not fail to bear, says the Lord of hosts. 12 Then all nations will call you blessed, for you will be a land of delight, says the Lord of hosts.

Tithing isn’t about what God wants from you, it’s about what He wants for you.
2.) Breakthrough generosity fuels the mission.
Acts 4:32–35 (NLT) 32 All the believers were united in heart and mind. And they felt that what they owned was not their own, so they shared everything they had. 33 The apostles testified powerfully to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and God’s great blessing was upon them all. 34 There were no needy people among them, because those who owned land or houses would sell them 35 and bring the money to the apostles to give to those in need. 36 For instance, there was Joseph, the one the apostles nicknamed Barnabas (which means “Son of Encouragement”). He was from the tribe of Levi and came from the island of Cyprus. 37 He sold a field he owned and brought the money to the apostles.
Our giving builds the bridge between people’s needs and God’s love.
3.) Breakthrough generosity reveals God's power.
Acts 9:36–42 (NIV) 36 In Joppa there was a disciple named Tabitha (in Greek her name is Dorcas); she was always doing good and helping the poor. 37 About that time she became sick and died, and her body was washed and placed in an upstairs room. 38 Lydda was near Joppa; so, when the disciples heard that Peter was in Lydda, they sent two men to him and urged him, “Please come at once!” 39 Peter went with them, and when he arrived he was taken upstairs to the room. All the widows stood around him, crying and showing him the robes and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them. 40 Peter sent them all out of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up. 41 He took her by the hand and helped her to her feet. Then he called for the believers, especially the widows, and presented her to them alive. 42 This became known all over Joppa, and many people believed in the Lord. 43 Peter stayed in Joppa for some time with a tanner named Simon.
Luke 6:38 (NIV) Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over.
When we give freely, God moves powerfully.
4.) Breakthrough generosity leaves a legacy.
Acts 20:35 (NIV) …’It is more blessed to give than to receive.’
2 Corinthians 9:11 (NIV) You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion.
Generosity writes a story that outlasts your life.
