Becoming A Man of God

Soul Tattoo: The enemy prepares weapons, but God prepares warriors.

The Bible tells us something powerful:

  • Things get forged in this world.
  • Lies get forged.
  • Weapons get forged.

Isaiah 54:17 (NKJV) 17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.

God doesn’t waste the fire, He uses it to forge you.

John 10:10 (NIV) 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

He is the father of lies…

John 8:44 (NKJV) 44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.

1.) THE ENEMY FORGES LIES.

Job 13:4 (NKJV) 4But you forgers of lies, You are all worthless physicians.

Psalm 119:69 (NKJV) 69The proud have forged a lie against me, But I will keep Your precepts with my whole heart.

In other words:

I refuse to let someone else’s lie derail my obedience to God.
I am going to stand on the sure foundation of God’s Word. 
We see what will stand, the lies of the enemy or the truth of God’s Word.
Just because a lie is loud doesn’t mean it’s true.

The enemy attacks your identity before he attacks your destiny.

If the enemy can redefine you, he can redirect you.

APPLICATION TO MEN:
Men especially face this battle.

The enemy tries to forge lies like:

  • “You’re not strong enough.”
  • “You’re not a good leader.”
  • “You’ve failed too many times.”
  • “You can’t be the man God wants you to be.”

Your identity is not determined by the lies forged against you. It is determined by the Word of God spoken over you.

APPLICATION TO WOMEN: 

  • “You’re not enough.”
  • “You’re overlooked.”
  • “You don’t matter.”
  • “You’ll never recover from your past.”

But the truth of God’s Word breaks those lies. When you know who God says you are, the counterfeit loses power.

The lie only works if you agree with it.

2. THE ENEMY FORGES WEAPONS.

Isaiah 54:16-17 (NKJV) 16“Behold, I have created the blacksmith Who blows the coals in the fire, Who brings forth an instrument for his work; And I have created the spoiler to destroy. 17No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, And their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.

APPLICATION TO MEN:

Men understand the language of battle.

Weapons represent:

  • Opposition
  • Pressure
  • Responsibility
  • Spiritual warfare

You’re carrying:

  • Family pressure
  • Financial pressure
  • Leadership pressure:
    • Home
    • Church
    • Work

The weapons forged against your life cannot cancel God’s purpose.

APPLICATION TO WOMEN:

Women carry battles too:

  • Emotional battles.
  • Family battles.
  • Spiritual battles.
  • Leadership pressure:
    • Home
    • Church
    • Work

Sometimes the enemy tries to weaponize:

  • Discouragement
  • Comparison
  • Fear

The weapons forged against your life cannot cancel God’s purpose.

God is forging you into women of faith & courage. Women who are gentle and strong.

3. GOD USES THE FORGE TOO.

Genesis 4:22 (NKJV) 22 And as for Zillah, she also bore Tubal-Cain, an instructor of every craftsman in bronze and iron. And the sister of Tubal-Cain was Naamah.

The enemy uses pressure to destroy. God uses pressure to develop.

The enemy tries to forge weapons. God is forging warriors.

Your mess is redeemed into a part of your message.

Your test is redeemed into your testimony. 

Your history is now His Story; what the enemy is using to try to destroy, God will redeem to refine you! 

Joseph:  

Genesis 50:20 (NKJV) 20 But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.

Paul: 

Philippians 1:12-14 (NLT) 12 And I want you to know, my dear brothers and sisters, that everything that has happened to me here has helped to spread the Good News. 13 For everyone here, including the whole palace guard, knows that I am in chains because of Christ. 14 And because of my imprisonment, most of the believers here have gained confidence and boldly speak God’s message without fear.

What did they know?The weapon may be formed, but it is not final.
